About | Avatar Imaging

At Avatar Imaging, we believe in early detection with precision. Our clinic was founded to provide a smarter, more reliable way to check for skin cancer—especially for people who need answers, reassurance, and results they can trust.

We combine medical expertise with cutting-edge technology to give every patient the most comprehensive skin check possible in a single, streamlined appointment. No guesswork. No rushed appointments. Just clear, detailed imaging, and expert insights.

Our 3D full-body photography and high-resolution dermoscopy are designed to spot even the smallest changes—helping to detect skin cancers early and often reducing the need for invasive treatment.

Dr. Michelle Pearse

Dr. Michelle Pearse, MBChB FACSCM FSCCA, is a highly respected skin cancer physician with over 20 years of experience dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer.

After graduating from the University of Auckland Medical School in 1990, Dr. Pearse relocated to Queensland in 2000 and began her lifelong focus in skin cancer medicine. She has developed a deep understanding of both melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers and has a particular interest in complex surgical repairs, including flaps and grafts of the head and lower limbs.

Dr. Michelle Pearse

Dr. Pearse holds fellowships with both the Australian College of Skin Cancer Medicine (2012) and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia (2013). Beyond her clinical practice, she’s a mentor and educator, sharing her skills and experience with other doctors to improve standards in skin cancer care across the country.

In 2017, she moved with her family to South East Melbourne and now consults from Highett and Mt. Martha. Her passion for improving diagnostic tools led her to pioneer the use of advanced imaging in clinical settings, bringing together macroscopic and dermoscopic imaging to better monitor lesions over time.

Dr. Pearse carefully selected Canfield’s Vectra WB360, the D200evo, and DermaGraphix systems—tools she believes represent the gold standard in skin imaging. Her mission is to make this powerful technology accessible to both patients and fellow practitioners across Victoria.
